Youtube is a great resource for music videos. Just enter the artist name or song title in the search field and there is a great chance that you might find it. Today, for example, I stumbled over an old favorite of mine, featuring one of Americas greatest actors, Christopher Walken.

¿Que tiene el .Net 3.0 que no tenía Access 97?
Pues eso. Lo que lees. La pregunta del siglo. Estaba ayer en una presentación muy buena de los nuevos componentes que trae el .Net Framework 3.0. Nos mostraron el Windows Workflow Foundation para implementar procesos de lógica con un diagrama de flujo (estilo Visio). Nos enseñaron como usar el Windows Communication Foundation para escribir aplicaciones orientados a servicios, sin tener que ni entender ni eligir previamente entre XML WebServices, .Net remoting o COM+ y, lo más bonito para el ojo, como hacer interfaces gráficos con elementos muy ricos y separado del código en un lenguaje declarativo (estilo ASP.Net) con Windows Presentation Foundation.
Al final, como es costumbre, preguntaron sí había alguna pregunta en la sala. Y salió la pregunta del tío trajeado en el extremo derecho de la sala. "En que año salió el Access 97?" [Pausa extraña e intentos de los ponentes de averiguar si era una pregunta con trampa.] "Porque no veo nada aquí que no hiciésemos con Access 97 hace diez años en Uruguay con ayuda de un tío de Venezuela." Es evidente que la versión Latino-Americana de Office 97 no fue exactamente la misma que la nuestra.
Para los demás, los que no tenéis esa versión mágica de Access, los que sois informáticos, los que todavía tenéis ganas de aprender, los que no estáis enamorados de vuestras propias voces o los que os interesáis por el futuro más que el pasado, podéis acceder al material usado en dicha presentación en el blog de David Carmona.
Pero os advierto: No tiene nada que no tenía el Access 97.

Pot stand
Last sunday (about a week ago) I was bored and decided to spend most of the day making a pot stand out of a piece of wood that I had lying around.
I used a hand saw, a Dremel (thanks mom and dad) and a good knife to carve out the wood, and sandpaper and varnish to make a nice finish. You can see the result below:
Now that sure saved me a euro or two!

Aurgi nunca más
No volveré a usar el taller de Aurgi. Mi coche lleva un mes o dos goteando aceite, y ahora cuando voy y lo arreglo (en Autos Oscar, un buen taller) me dicen que el aceite se perdió por el filtro de aceite porque estaba flojo.
Así que nada. No volveré a esperar colas desesperantes en Aurgi para que me chapuceen el coche. Plonk.
PD. No solo me cambiaron el aceite en Aurgi. También me hicieron un paralelo o equilibrio de las ruedas delanteras después de ponerle neumáticos nuevos. Para ir recto después tenía que girar el volante unos 15 grados hacia la derecha. Y para que me lo arreglasen tenía que esperar otra cola de una hora y pico.

Pan's Labyrinth
I just read that Guillermo del Toro's new film "Pan's Labyrinth" is premiering on Norwegian cinemas today. I am delighted to see that this film is reaching beyond Spanish borders. This is a great movie and I recommend those of you who haven't seen it to do so. On a large screen.

Buenos días,
Los últimos meses he formado parte de un nueva grupo para programadores de .Net en Málaga. Tenemos una lista de correos (apuntate aquí) donde resolvemos problemas etc. Además hacemos reuniones cada mes, donde un ponente nos introduce a algún tema relacionado al mundo cada vez más grande de .Net.
